Online gambling has been legalized in Santa Fe

Santa Fe, a province in northeastern Argentina, saw its senate approve a bill regulating online gambling last Thursday. The bill had previously been approved by the Chamber of Deputies.

The law, which has been relevant since November 2020, initially granted the right to launch online casinos only during the COVID-19 pandemic. The approved bill increases the tax rate on income from online gambling from 10% to 15% and gives the green light for the launch of online betting.

However, the betting will not be conducted by bookmaking companies but by land-based casinos. The province has only three gambling establishments located in Rosario, Santa Fe, and Melincué.
